Early Life

Born on July 10, 2002, Vicoka was raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He is of Igbo descent from Anambra State. Growing up in a challenging environment in Port Harcourt, he found an early passion for music, drawing inspiration from Nigerian music legends like 2Baba, P-Square, and Flavour. After completing his primary and secondary education, he decided to focus on his music career.

Career

Vicoka began his professional music journey in 2019, experimenting with different sounds. He gained significant traction and rose to national recognition in 2024 with the release of his single "Port Harcourt." The deeply personal and autobiographical song details his childhood struggles, the loss of family members, and the sacrifices his mother made. The track resonated with a wide audience, becoming his signature song and surpassing 500,000 streams within three months of its release.

His music often explores themes of street life, love, and self-empowerment. Before his major breakthrough, he released tracks like "Feeling good," "Lockdown," and "Prayer." His success has led to collaborations with other artists, including a remix of "Port-Harcourt" with the popular duo Ajebo Hustlers, which further expanded his fanbase.

In 2020, Vicoka signed with Jungle records and Mainland BlockParty. His growing influence has been noted by critics, who praise his lyrical authenticity and cultural depth, and he was named one of the "Top 20 Emerging Artists to Watch" in 2025 by Highlife NG.
