Dunsin Oyekan was born on November 5, 1984, in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He is the only son of his parents. His father, Pastor Gbadebo Oyekan, was a pastor and a former leader in the Assemblies of God church. This strong spiritual upbringing played a crucial role in shaping his life and musical direction.
His passion for music was evident from a very young age. His father encouraged him to learn the guitar at the age of ten. This marked the beginning of his journey as a musician. He later went on to master other instruments, including the piano, drums, and bass.
He attended the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Chemistry.
Dunsin Oyekan's professional music career began as the music director of the award-winning choir, The Avalanche, the official choir of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA). It was during this time that he began to gain recognition for his exceptional musical talent and anointing.
He launched his solo ministry with a powerful sense of purpose, focusing on releasing what he often refers to as "the sound of revival." His music is deeply rooted in scripture and prayer, and he has stated that many of his songs are received during moments of deep worship and communion with God.
