Early Life and Education

Aguero Banks was born on November 9, 1997, in Amabiriba Okpanku, located in the Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. He grew up in a household where music was a constant presence, as his father was a local DJ. This early exposure sparked his passion for music, and he began writing his own rhymes while in primary school.

He completed his primary and secondary education in Enugu State before proceeding to Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) in Ebonyi State. During his university years, he became a well-known figure on campus for his musical talent, often performing at student events. He also initiated a popular annual concert series called "Chronicles of Banks," which helped him build a dedicated following. In 2020, he graduated with a degree in Sociology and completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Benue State in 2021.

His stage name, "Aguero," was given to him during his university days because of his skills as a striker on the football field, drawing a comparison to the Argentine footballer Sergio Agüero.

Music Career

Describing himself as a "real-life Hip-Hop artist," Aguero Banks draws heavily from his environment and life experiences to create his music. His lyrics often tell a story of his journey from humble beginnings and the challenges he faced growing up in Enugu.

In 2020, he signed with FOMO Records, a significant step in his professional career. He gained wider recognition with his debut EP, "Pains and Sacrifice," released in 2021. This project, featuring elements of drill, trap, and hip-hop, delved into his personal story of overcoming hardship.

He has released several notable singles and collaborated with prominent Nigerian artists. His track "Facie" featured JeriQ, "Olisa" featured Peruzzi, and the 2023 hit song "Still Sober" featured respected rapper Phyno, further solidifying his position in the music industry.
